Heritage Pool and Racquet Club
The goal of our juniors' tennis program is to teach skills and foster a love for the game in a spirited and positive learning environment. Our friendly staff is always available to answer questions and help our juniors in any way. The suggested ages for leveled lessons are approximate; children will progress through these levels at differing speeds. At the discretion of the instructors, children may move levels as progress and safety allow.
Red Ball/Little Aces 1: Approximate age of Little Aces is up to 6 years old. This level is oriented toward developing a love of tennis and building confidence through games. This is a great way to break into tennis at a young age, have fun and meet new friends.
Red Ball/Little Aces 2: Approximate age of Little Aces 2 is up to 8 years of age with and is oriented toward continued stroke development and improving confidence. Little Aces 2 is for children who can consistently hit a ball which is fed to them and who can keep a short rally going. In other words, graduates from Little Aces 1.
Orang Ball: Approximate age 9-10 with a focus on improving strokes and introducing point play scenarios in a fun and positive environment. Group IV will work on all the fundamentals of tennis including scoring and sportsmanship.
Green Ball: Approximate age 11-12. Group 1 continues working on the skills from group 4 while incorporating fitness and knowledge of the court into a high energy class. There are two groups at this level (A&B) in order to accommodate participation in swimming/diving lessons and meets; the instructional level is consistent across both groups.
Yellow Ball: Approximate age 13-16 with a continued focus on improving strokes, point play scenarios and scoring along with the introduction of singles and doubles strategies. This group will also learn the importance of fitness and mental preparation for more competitive tennis.
