Heritage Pool and Racquet Club
The goal of our juniors' tennis program is to teach skills and foster a love for the game in a spirited and positive learning environment. Our friendly staff is always available to answer questions and help our juniors in any way. The suggested ages for leveled lessons are approximate; children will progress through these levels at differing speeds. At the discretion of the instructors, children may move levels as progress and safety allow. Lessons are offered Monday through Friday, please see the daily calendar for days and times.
Little Aces 1: Approximate age of Little Aces is up to 6 years old. This level is oriented toward developing a love of tennis and building confidence through games. This is a great way to break into tennis at a young age, have fun and meet new friends.
Little Aces 2: Approximate age of Little Aces 2 is up to 8 years of age with and is oriented toward continued stroke development and improving confidence. Little Aces 2 is for children who can consistently hit a ball which is fed to them and who can keep a short rally going. In other words, graduates from Little Aces 1.
Group IV (A&B): Approximate age 9-10 with a focus on improving strokes and introducing point play scenarios in a fun and positive environment. Group IV will work on all the fundamentals of tennis including scoring and sportsmanship.
Group III: Approximate age 13-14 with a continued focus on improving strokes, point play scenarios and scoring along with the introduction of singles and doubles strategies. This group will also learn the importance of fitness and mental preparation for more competitive tennis.
Group II: Approximate age 14-16. Group II lessons will build upon previously taught concepts of the game and will step up the fitness and mental component of lessons with the addition of integrated fitness and agility drills into daily lessons.
Group I (A&B): Approximate age 11-12. Group 1 continues working on the skills from group 4 while incorporating fitness and knowledge of the court into a high energy class. There are two groups at this level (A&B) in order to accommodate participation in swimming/diving lessons and meets; the instructional level is consistent across both groups.
